Jean Capoulade, Roland Fraissinet: a duo of visionaries who were among the first to realise the full potential that helicopters offered.
At the start of the 1970s, the former created Hélicap in the Paris area, and around 10 years later, the latter founded Secours Aérien Français (SAF) in the Savoie region. Both companies simultaneously developed by diversifying their services, one through focus on emergency medical services (SMUR) and the other using their mountain rescue experience.
Their almost identical trajectories finally met in 2006 to form the Groupe SAF. A group with shared values since its foundation:
